Anyone here had problems with Avangate?

A friend has just made me aware that she ended up paying them $400.

It seem she had a major problem with her laptop, it displayed a message with contact details for a "quick fix"; She panicked and contacted them, they did actually fix the problem but charged her $400.

She feels pretty bad about it, embarrassed I guess.

Why would anyone just go for the first option online, rather than seek local help? And to give your card details over to a complete stranger. :nono:

I feel sorry for her, it's b een a tough lesson.
