View Full Version : So, on balance, we'd prefer it if our new £50 million superstar January striker would

be eligible to play in the European Cup for us this season.

Hmm.. :rubchin:

*Don't worry; the question will be settled amicably in the courts.

He was positively begging him not to rock the boat with a new striker in January.

I'd be blowed if he actually believed it though.

possibility that we’re onto a good thing?

Unintended consequences are a very real threat when it comes to fiddling with the balance of a football squad. Of course, armchair football fans don’t have to worry about that, but Wenger does.

It would give the whole club a lift.

We have Bendtner who is experienced and seems to be trusted enough to play now and Podolski coming back. Plus Theo, Sanogo and Ozil who is obviously able to play up top too.

And we're doing quite well already, you may have noticed, even with three of those injured.

And anyway, Thierry's own best Arsenal squad was crawling with pwopa forwards.

Integrating the new man (whom ever he may be) would be the least of a manager's worries, I think.

I love Giroud but a Suarez would be nice

Monty91
12-12-2013, 02:53 PM
If we could sign a Suarez, of course I would not object. But a mere back up? I simply don't see the need.

Pokster
12-12-2013, 02:55 PM
so we rely on Giroud and NB... why does the signing have to be a back up and not someone who can be first choice?

Just to be on the safe side ;-)

I fail to see how you can conclude that our season will stand or fall on a new striker.

as second fiddle to Giroud? I'm not sure even with our new-found financial firepower we quite have that pull...

Long way to go. No harm in having more options, if that player is better than Giroud then all well and good.

A new striker may propel us to the title, but it may also disrupt what has so far enabled us to achieve such as good position.

And when we have so many attacking options already, there is some logic in saying why rock the boat?

yuou seem to be settling for how we are going now, why not have ambition and get an even better striker which could have the benefit of improving Giroud

wash Olivier's smalls. He will be merely joining the squad to take his chances as and when they arrive. Offering us further strength in depth and a'that.

Look, we all love Giroud, of course, but if the manager decides we need more wallop upfront then we'll all just have to accept it.
