I made one post critical of one part of Wenger's approach last night. You might not agree with it, but at least it was reasoned and had an argument to it. In response, I got somebody telling me they were glad Mugabe raped my family and another telling me that I am a dickhead.

I like a bit of banter and I have a thick skin for it, at least when it is clever and inventive. I was under the impression that this was a place where reasonable people could exchange different views, with good banter like that thrown in.

Instead it seems to be a playground filled with disaffected middle-aged men who don't know how to communicate with each other except by lumping everybody else into crude categories and tossing about silly insults.

I'm not a dickhead. I'm a person with an opinion. I don't hate Wenger. I don't want him to be fired.

Come to think of it -- unlike many, probably even most of the fanatical Wenger apologists here, I'm not sure I even care if we play beautiful football and don't win anything. I just wish some times that those two things went hand in hand.

I shall go back to other, healthier parts of the internet.
