We should also let the spudz win in the FA Cup too shouldn't we?

That's a whole different scenario, 6th round exit there.

Still win the League mind you.

you jest.

Why not eh.

Given ourselves the near perfect chance with the start we've had. I see no reason why we cannot party like it was 1999 come May.

Actually 1999 probably not the best analogy.

Lar d'Arse

Now you say why not?

Why not is because we have no spirit in the side, no leaders on the pitch, no bottle when the chips are down, no second striker, no belief that we can beat the other top teams, etc etc.

I am surprised you need clarification

This may be a gloomy over-reaction.

I think it's fairly unlikely that we will run away with the league, and if it comes down to a 4,3 or 2 horse race, we are up against at least two clubs with greater squad depth and more trophy-winning experience than us.

At this stage of the season, there's good reason to still consider us outsiders.

Pat Vegas

but it will be a special season.

Unless Mertesacker gets injured and it's all over.

buys another 3 or 4 of them?

You won't find me making up excuses about other sides and their resources/squads.

Essentially nothing has changed here. We can still succeed in several ways (finish in the top four, win a tin pot) but only fail in one (the league or the European Cup).

Oh, that's two :homer:

If it were at the Lane less so.

Home win.

to make up that particular shortfall within the squad. I mean the trophy-winning experience bit.

I know they are a very good side, certainly our equal going forward, less certain about their defence.

Given our position as title challengers, or hopefuls or whatever the f**k you want to call it, we should be winning our home games.

Fortress Emirates etc.

It seems to have been the days when the midfield is a little bit misfiring overall that we drop points.

We did not look like champions yesterday, and will have to play better than that against Manchester and Chelsea.

And probably at the end of January.

February is where it starts to get a bit tricky.
