are struggling, as it will add further gloss to his legacy?

Yes, he did help select Moyes, but you'd imagine history will forget that fairly quickly if he ends up failing there (not that he necessarily will)

surpass their own achievements.

There's a lesson for us there too.

Or are you just having a pop at the perceived character of Ferguson.

alongside photos of him looking as dour and miserable as he always did) about their form is utterly laughable, and also that the possibility of him being secretly smug is perfectly conceivable too.

A Premiership winning barrel of ****e as we both know, one that simply needed to be built on in the summer.

I would be quicker to blame that Woodward man – or his appointment as opposed to him personally – than Moyes.

months to go it will be interesting to see if Ferguson has to become saviour for a few months and save their arse.

However I am sure they will rise up the table somewhat but they may be the team struggling for the 4th spot.

No intelligent adult takes them at their word.

him speak so highly of him, in part because of the way he 'fathered' them through their careers?

He certainly bullied the press and referees, which may make him a manipulative ****, but he will always claim it was for the benefit of MUFC, not as some kind of power trip which is what characterises most bullies.

the fact remains that journalists, referees and even his own players were scared of him, because he screamed foul abuse into their faces.

Bully. Of his motives I care nothing.

and could win them even more trophies (more European Cups, for instance) they would've hired him years ago and sacked Ferguson off.

They didn't so he isn't.

reluctance/inability to instill fear in his players has been the fundamental problem at Arsenal over recent years.

I said that he's a bully. I don't like bullies. I don't care why he's a bully. You will allow me to detest the foul-mouthed scotch ****. Please.

Ferguson is arguably the best manager ever in the history of English football, it is extremely unlikely Moyes will ever match him or indeed any other manager will. I would be 99% sure no United fan ever thought Moyes was the equal of Ferguson, the few I know well did not expect any trophy success this season due to the seismic change that occurred in the club.

Managers should be analysed and judged on their own merits and tenures, not compared.

George or Arsene. Different eras, both brilliant.
