View Full Version : I wonder if van Persie regrets leaving now?

Probably won't admit it but surely he must be thinking that he has possibly f**ked up on this one?

He is still playing for one of the top 3-4 clubs in world football and has won the Premier League which would have been a huge factor in his desire to leave. I know people like to think it was greed alone but that’s just a silly, petulant reaction to a footballer wanting to leave the club.

We’re top of the league in December, nothing more.

He might regret it in the future but then there is no guarantee at all that our current situation and form would have been replicated had he stayed. Probably not in fact if the belief is that his character stymied the development or confidence of certain players.

Perhaps the whole dressing room vibe is different. Causing Ramsey not to find his current form.

win a trophy with us, rather than with some other club.

Still better than not winning anything at all though, I suppose.

against us for example.

Arsenal as club let him leave quite easily to go to United. He didn't appear to leave on bad terms.

He did that non-celebrating because of respect *******sv thing last year, move on.

He's a United player now, big game, big goal, celebration time.

If it were me I would have removed my shirt and ran straight down the tunnel, by the time the ref had the others back in the centre circle I would be on my 3rd can in the back of a taxi on the way to a bar with cocaine and hookers.

Poor scouting in the occupied 6 counties during war time.

Couldn't give two f**ks about them.

I don't even know or care about their share price for example.

played more matches and scored more goals for us than for any other club probably.

Like I say; important.

then leaving us having grown into an international superstar is more significant, on a personal footballistic level than being a mere footnote in the fortunes of a seasoned title-winning machine like Manchester United.

Arguably the catalyst for said title.

Anyway, who knows. Footballer, a rum bunch. Not to be trusted, they are not like you and I Red.

May depend on what tangible success he goes on to have at United.

He may look back on that spell when he won x, y and z instead of that season when he scored 20+ goals and came 3rd, or 4th. Really don’t know. All nice memories but surely a top player would like to win things.

Perhaps the season he won the PFA Award will take pride of place on his small but well-crafted trophy cabinet. He did win that with us didn’t he?
