the corpse for posterity?

I was a little disturbed when my girlfriend returned home from Germany last night with a veritable album full of photos of her grandfather looking perfectly peaceful, but nonetheless inescapably DEAD.

Turns out the family spent much of the weekend using him as some kind of macabre Ken doll, even putting his old radio DJ headphones on his head at one point :-

I can't say I would want photos to mark the occasion. Some of my family went to a viewing after the undertaker had done their stuff, but f**k that for a game of soldiers.

We have to have them home in an open casket the night before the funeral. Much partying goes on around them. :-(
