Not quite sure how I managed to go a whole weekend without finding out, but there you are. Bad business.

I heard reports that they mistook it for a helipad, which is some logical stretch if you think about it, and later that it just fell out of the sky. I wonder if it ran out of fuel or something?

and if you're a passenger you only have a tiny window to look out of, whereas in a helicopter you get panoramic views of cool stuff like individual rain showers across the sky.

And you can swoop really close to the land or water. Just fundamentally better.

I quite like helicopters as they have a fantastic habit of killing the filthy rich, and the less rich but just as ostentatious, in big firey death balls.

There's a load of bridges going across the Clyde where the pub was & there's only one where the helipad pad is, also there a big fùck off crane & the SECC near where the helicopters land.

The next time I remember my friends Ike Eze or Dave Perrin, I'll remember how much they deserved it.

Up until age 30, he was selling carpets in Leeds. Disillusiond with life, his missus bought him a self-help book to inspire him to pursue his dreams. Ten years later and he has a complete monopoly over private helicopter charters in the Bahamas and spends his days chaperoning millionaires and celebrities (and me) back and forth across the most jaw-droppingly beautiful waters in the world.

There's a lesson in there for us all. Especially those of us stuck in Yorkshire :-)

You get in/on one knowing full well that it's statistically a very, very dangerous mode of transport.

But it does make you look well rich though, so it's a tough one for some.

It's not in the least impressive.

Quo Vadis was excellent. It's odd that I've never been before.

I shall have no more to do with you. I have tried to help you, tried to open your mind to the possibilities of the extraordinary, tried to lift your soul beyond the mundane, and this is how you repay me.

Never again will I bother.
