View Full Version : I reckon Ozil is basically immune from criticism.

Otherwise our fans will be in the awkward position of having to concede that we’re top of the league having only signed a midfielder on a free and that :spendingsaaahmfaackinmaaahney: didn’t actually work.

much improved following the penalty miss and the ball to Jack was Rosicky-esque off the outside of the boot

He's a luxury but one I rather like

This article in the Guardian seems about right http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/nov/26/mesut-o zil-arsenal-marseille-champions-league (http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/nov/26/mesut-ozil-arsenal-marseille-champions-league)

Wenger as much as admitted it Himself.

I presume young Mesut is doing alright in the shirt-selling superstar straniero role

I'd say he's more than a bit lazy at times and has a bit of a casual manner.
He's class. That's obvious but I watched him get dispossessed a couple of times last night in particular and he made absolutely zero effort to win it back.

Also, the Spurs players who are being mocked are clearly good players, but buying so many at once and expecting them to do well from day one will never happen. DB10 said as much in his book

new country, city, league, manager, players, etc, etc

Ozil oozes quality and will only improve

spurs were mad to buy precisely zero players from other PL sides

You mention Wilshere - he is exceptionally lucky to be in the first 11 at the moment. Taken his chance brilliantly tbf, but I very much doubt he is questioning a player who scares the **** out of the opposition and creates so much space for his teammates. Still all about :passioncommitment: innit

'even Arsène Wenger is willing to concede that Özil's levels have dipped a little'

If you don't concede that he has any flaws to his game then that's your opinion.

On last nights showing Ramsey and Jack were our stand out players. Only my opinion mind.

Özil left the pitch with nine minutes remaining to an ovation that was encouraging rather than rapt. He played with heart here if only occasionally with precision. It is a sign of Arsenal's midfield riches that in Ramsey and Wilshere, who looked encouragingly mobile here throughout, they had more than enough in reserve

Disagree with the fact that Wilshere and Ramsey would be so quick to judge a player who has come from a very different league with no pre-season and has still made a great impact. I would imagine they love playing with him

Sometimes when he turns away from a challenge it's like watching someone almost as good as Cesc.

recognise. He's perfect scapegoat casting when he has a quiet game or isn't playing at his best.

He's also, until now, been deprived of the one player who most were excited about seeing him link up with: Theo.

That Özil's pelanty was so crap - that it was likely that he missed on purpose as the foul was so blatantly not a pelanty.

Discuss.

Of course Wilshere and Ramsey are in awe of Ozil, as is everyone else at the club probably.
Just making a moot point that these guys stood out for me last night and not our £40 odd million quid superstar.

who were proven in the league already. Cantona, Rooney, Rio, Young, Valencia, RvP etc etc

We must have bought a maximum of about 4 or 5 players from other PL clubs

Sure, he bought some riskier players, and some were flops (Veron), but the majority, I'm sure were domestically bought

Wenger had to watch the pennies more and the best way to do so was to scout around in a bigger market and hope to find players that he could pick up more cheaply, who would do well. Much riskier approach of course, but the alternative would have been buying mid range premier league players

If we had scored it and ended up qualifying purely on the basis of it would Arsene have done a Kanu & Overmars/Sheff Utd and offered to replay it :-)
