A young journalist had the run-in of his career on the day of President Kennedy's assassination but he didn't even know it.

Pierce Allman was a rookie reporter when he accidentally ran into Lee Harvey Oswald in the moments immediately after President Kennedy was shot.

'He didn't appear stressed in any way,' Allman said of Oswald.

Allman was in the crowd when shots were fired at the President's motorcade, and he saw people leaning out the fifth-floor windows of the Texas School Book Depository and looking up to the level above.

'There were three guys in the fifth floor window. And they were literally hanging out of the window and looking up and pointing up,' Allman told CBS.

'I thought, "I need to get to a phone and call." So I ran down the sidewalk and up the steps and into the doorway of the depository building.'

As soon as he got into the building, he realized that he needed help finding a phone in the building so he could file the report.

'There was a guy standing in the doorway, and I said, "Where's the phone?" And he jerked his thumb and said, "In there!" And I said, "Thank you,"’ he told CBS.

The moment was so fleeting that even though Oswald's picture was splashed across the papers and television news programs in the coming days, Allman did not realize that Oswald was the man he spoke to until three weeks later.

I have seen the best efforts of making the case against him and explaining how it was possible for him to hae done it, and why he wanted to.

They are completly unconvincing. I have no need for conspiracy theories, it isnt up to me to prove him innocent. There is virtually no case against him.

The evidence from the film that disputes the angle of fire, the fact that the rifle he i supposed to have done it with was a piece of ****, that it was a ludicrously difficult shot.....and the seceral witnesses who say he wasnt on the sixth floor anyway. The fact that it took three days to find a fingerprint on the rifle, the ballistics report that suggested oswald hadnt fired anything that day......huge wuestion marks all over the case.

As above, this isnt conspiracy bull****. Had he not been shot a few days later a case would have had to have been made against him. None was, and no attempt was ever made to charge anyone else.

It isnt the work of a nutjob to question this. It is rather important and not unreasonable to expect the burden of proof to rest with the prosecution.

All the above has been disproved, there was a documentary on it about 6 mths ago

If you can't accept the evidence that it was Oswald on his own then you are mad

stood trial. The alibi would have been second best to a photo of him speaking to him. The reporter has a reputation to protect so he wouldn't have made the statement if it wasn't true.

investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (1963), the Warren Commission (1964), the House Select Committee on Assassinations (1979), the Secret Service, and the Dallas Police Department all concluded that LHO was guilty.
No matter how much people want the assassination of the POTUS to be as a result of collusion between the powers of darkness, it's more likely that a schmuck (albeit highly-trained) with a grudge/issues decided to make a name for himself that day...
