No offence, of course

The world would be an altogether nicer place if we all made an effort.

And you and I both know that eccentric is just a euphemism for 'c**t', don't we? :-(

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

Are we 15? Are you going to laugh at me because my trainers aren't the coolest?

Honestly.

Peter

And our different definitions of elegance, etc...

Which makes my previous post insulting and childish.

I therefore apologise

Emotionally, I mean. Not necessarily physically. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

You know, i always wanted to be a pilot. Too late now though

You could even get a commercial licence. There's about to be a terrible shortage of commercial pilots.

What would a starting salary look like?

How long before i can fly 380s?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas

This weekend we shall be scouring art deco shops for new furniture. I'm constantly attired in suits and am sporting a fedora.

It feels like coming home, b.

almost certainly get there eventually. The writtens are tough; there's something like 29 exams and they're all maths / physics heavy.

At your age you're going to end up with a charter carrier. The salary will be painful to start with (£50k with flight pay?) but you should be at or around £100k within 5 years.

You'll never fly a 380. Trust me on this.

Of short haul ****ers.

Its the 380 or nothing to be honest.

Do you have to be trained to fly individual aircraft or can you just jump in and start her up?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
11-19-2013, 01:11 PM
More exams, lots of simulator work.

Peter
11-19-2013, 01:13 PM
And the useless ****ers get the old 757s?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
11-19-2013, 01:16 PM
national carriers through regional turboprops, 737, A320, 757, to 747 and A380. The regional airlines and charter operators who hoover up everyone else simply don't operate the big shiny new aeroplanes.

Peter
11-19-2013, 01:18 PM
Come on, they are arent they, just say it :-)

Did you fly the big 'uns?

Snin

more on non autopilot, do more hours, and other airlines like to try and poach them ? is this true or was my ryan air flying chum just full o ****e ?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
11-19-2013, 01:22 PM
Airline pilots from many third world ****kicker economies are trained here, which is probably why so much of the world has such a great safety record.

Yanks are f**king rubbish. Obviously.

I never flew airliners, no. I flew jets, but never commercial airliners. (Well, I had a couple of goes, actually. But details of these occasions are best left unstated for legal reasons.)

Peter

I could stomach routine european crap if thy let me have a quick spin in 747 every now amd then.

Latst question, and the biggest. The crew smoke on flights dont they......smile once for yes, twice for no :-)

Snin
11-19-2013, 01:25 PM
land it ok ? as it seemed pretty easy in a filum ...

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
11-19-2013, 01:27 PM
All pilots operate under the same rules governing maximum flying hours and duty times. Ryan Air probably push those to the limit, but the difference isn't huge. There is also no reason for Ryan Air to hand fly the aeroplane more or less than anyone else. Again, everyone operates to the same regulations governing the number of hand-flown approaches / autolands a pilot performs.

He's yanking your chain.
