I’ve never played any of this series, nor any action game on the iPlod before. I’m not sure I want to go around punching people in the game, and only got it because God Old Jorge assured me that in these games you can just slouch around and look at the scenery if you want.

I am finding it rather difficult to propel myself around the city though. I started in a car, which I struggle to keep on the road, and in which I basically lurch around on the pavement mowing down pedestrians and street lights. There are buttons on screen for accelerate / brake/ left / right but I’ve not really got the hang of them, especially as the camera view of the car keeps changing, and the car often disappears behind a tree.

Eventually the car blew up after I’d crashed it for the 100th time and I found myself on foot. I didn’t have a clue how to use the on-screen joystick thing to move where I wanted and blundered around at random, before eventually bumping into a police car and somehow attempting to steal it which got me arrested. At which point I called it a day.

Is there a spazzers guide somewhere to playing this thing? Or does one eventually get the hang of it with practice? I assume that the criminals and hoodlums for whom the game was designed instinctively know how to operate it but I’m new to this genre and feel a little bit short of experience.

Any advice?

Push the stick forward, houses get bigger.

Pull the stick back, houses get smaller.

Keep pulling the stick back, houses get bigger again.

Ol' pilot gag there for you a. You can have that one for free.
