Personally, I have great difficulty with the whole chip/gravy thing.

Mushy Peas - absolutely
Curry sauce - no doubt about it

I would sit alone on the sofa in pants and vest, weeping as I shovelled the 3 piece variety meal with associated gravied chips into my gaping maw. It was, i am pretty sure, a form of self-harm.
