Life on Mars and Snoopy vs the Red Baron

By the time I was 13 it was in the hundreds, including Supper's Ready, every Cat Stevens hit and Glad to be Gay (ahem)

What the hell did my mum put in my Tea when I was 10 and a half?

Nowadays my kids 'like' music, but do not breath it, do not lie in bed with headphones the size of saucepans, cannot read lyrics unless they have their ipads or laptops, do not worship any musician at all.

I feel the world is a sadder place and probably the reason modern music is ****.

I thank you

started really well and faded a bit there. Simply Red? What was she thinking? Is that not officially abuse?

Much more eclectic, less marketing-studio-produced pablum lyrics.

Mind you I was never a purveyor of the outer edges of music and didn't discover the Pogues till well into the 90s so perhaps the mainstream now is what is far better than before.

And listened to John Peel's late night show most nights early seventies onwards.
