We look more fluid in our play when Rosicky plays...

perhaps that is why we struggle in November

injury issues.

in our favour. It would make a real difference to our smaller squad of first choice players.

I can see where it has benefit, but not for this particular issue

We always have 6, 7, 8 injured players out during October and November. Not broken legs, but hamstrings, groins, back and calves. Having a December break will help the injured players get back, but I'd rather prevention than cure

There just has to be an issue that is causing the same repeating injuries every season. I'm sure squad size and the champions league games do have some bearing, but to this extent?

As the other team is trying to get the ball back and getting frustrated, so there are more after-ball pushes, stamps, kicks, etc. And generally, a lot of stretch-based injuries, as we HAVE NO f**kING DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER WHEN FLAMINI IS INJURED, so a lot of lunges into tackles to break up the latter-stages of break away's and counter attacks.

Cause and effect.

After all, we are interested in results, not injuries.

then it is logical to think that the longer the season goes on, the larger the injury list should become. It doesn't seem to happen like that. We start with a stack of injuries, they start to get better around December/January, we have a fullish squad until late in April. Last year we had next to no injuries from January onwards

I think squad size is a factor, but I think it does go much deeper than that.

finish above us, that we are competing with, then surely squad-size becomes the only real issue, doesn't it?

I think we look tired, weary, at the moment, but are doing alright, all things considered. Chelsea, for example, are really struggling to win at St. James' just now (he says, defeating his own argument :homer: ), yet their squad is considered to be the strongest in the division.

Like I said, it's results, not injuries.

The point is that the longer the season goes on the more injuries you should pick up, not the other way round.

I have a theory about why this happens and that is that the training is probably lighter than at other clubs, making us not as battle hardened as other teams. Perhaps the players gain strength and stamina during the season

exactly where you'd imagine we'd be finishing. Logically speaking.

And the only teams that ever finish ahead of us are the ones with greater playing resources than us

Maybe injuries is just part of football.

If we get to January in this position then I'll be a very happy man.

Every club suffers injuries, we just seem to suffer more than others.

Injuries will cost us, mind.
