Truth be told, I dont feel massively comfortable at the emirates. I find it a little bit lacking in comparison to the highbury experience.

That said, the amount of Northern aways is in steady decline, what with the rise of the welsh clubs and utterly superfluous clubs like Southampton and Norwich.

The whole emirates experience just feels a little bit forced, still.

I remember when football was football :sigh:

So how do you know it is still forced?

The Emirates can rock every bit as hard as Highbury used to in latter days, and just like Highbury, that doesn't happen all the time.

I went a few years back, I think it was the match where eboue got booed, and the most audible thing were the collective sigh/grumble from the crowd.

I wasnt really referring to the crowd noise though, it was more the feel of the place, the duende of it, that just isnt there for me.

I love the away games though, still a good laugh.

actually criticised us on Tuesday despite the fact that we fielded only a single regular-playing defender, a second choice goalkeeper, had two key midfielders unavailable, our best player and main striker on the bench, and injuries to three other key players who would almost certainly have started.

It was real bananas that used to get thrown.

The place was rocking. Chelsea was very depresing though.

However, it's really not primarily about the atmosphere for me, if it were I would probably have found another club to support years ago.

I do feel a bit divorced from the whole thing though, I just cant get the enthusiasm together to bother with home games though.

Norwich players, Fleck, Ullathorn, Sutton, Goss & Megson

I've nothing but horrible memories of that game, looking at the eviscerated north bank from my perch in the east stand. I had been roundly battered the night before and had two broken ribs, a broken eye socket and some pretty serious concussion. I looked like the elephant man in shades.

I will not take part in your test.

I was being coached by Arsenal during this point. Oh yes and I got to meet Paul Davis.

And played on the Astroturf pitches behind the clock end.

And had my penalty saved by a girl :-(

I used to love looking at the Clock End when there was just a corrugated iron fence and clock there. Even the JVC jumbotron didn't work.
