View Full Version : 10 year old kid was mugged

in Oslo the other day. An 18 year old and a 24 year old threatened him and took his mobile phone as the kid was waiting for the bus 10 am in Oslo.

So two other chaps, 17 and 30 years old witnessed this and interfered. The youngest mugger punched the 30 year old in the face and things kinda kicked off. It ended with the muggers getting a solid kicking. Things got a bit out of hand as the youngest vigilante ended up kicking one of the muggers in the face, spreading his teeth all over the pavement.

Muggers got nicked for mugging and the vigilante got nicked for excessive violence.

Big discussion over here. Are they heroes these two vigilantes or does the whole heroic act get a bit devalued when you kick a chap whose down on the ground, in the face?

They deserve to be punished as society has agreed is the correct course of action which is with a judge and jury. They did not deserve to have their own safety threatened just because they have taken the wrong path in life.

The guys should have just done the minimum to protect the kid and if possible, try to put the mugger under citizen's arrest or something. You don't have a free licence to pummel the guy to bits

Those damn utenlandske folk living in Norge eh :hehe:

But as much as I despise people who mug children, I can also understand the coppers. If someone breaks into your house, and you knock them to the ground, it is not ok to execute them afterwards, even if you feel they deserve it.

But maybe he didn't have control of the situation, maybe the teeth removal happened in the heat of them oment.

I sentence you to a damn good kicking outside court on the pavement. That is hardly a civilised community, is it?

Always amazes me how some people think that human instinct can somehow be reasoned with once the red mist descends.

None of us know how we'll react in any given situation.

Some seem to want anarchy in our civilised society. It has taken years to establish courts and a justice system. Where would we be if we all went back to taking the law into our own hands like this?

If we all took a bit more responsibility and relied on the state a little less, we might be slightly less civilised, but my tax bill would go down a bit

Don't wait for a copper to deal with the mugger, if you can see the mugger, deal with it. Don't wait for social services to come and feed and house your old mum, look after her yourself. You know, basic responsibility stuff.

Are you a card-carrying member of the Communist Party mm?

head to be murdered by a vigilante, and for the vigilante to go unpunished? You'd like to live in a society like that?

If I want to catch a plane, I call an airline. If I see a mugging, I will call the police. Of course I will house and arrange for a private nurse to feed my mum. That is what the money in her estate is there for.

to happen to you. Think of the kid and the trauma he's undergone rather than the c**ts who initiated the whole thing. Waiting for experts who may never turn up is hardly a human way to deal with things when people are being beaten up or murdered.

Why not cut off their hands if they are found guilty of stealing? Seems to work okay in Dubai.

What about the bloke who comes along and see's you kicking five bells out of this chap, should he then give you a beating?

Did your father used to beat you as punishment for hitting your younger brother?

Sir Charlie of Nicholas
10-29-2013, 10:51 AM
Seeing a crime taking place and attempting to stop it happening has no direct relation to the justice system, and I certainly wouldn't suggest that your intervention should come in the form of punishment. But if I am to grapple with a mugger to protect another member of society, I'm going to want to be sure that he is down and not a threat to me any more.

What would you do if a German soldier was raping your sister, mm? Call the police?

and he was carrying a small axe as he was off to end of garden to chop kindling..he smacked the axe into the tree just next to my head as i just managed to avoid it hitting me square in the face...he then punched me for making me nearly kill him...so yes i think anything is fair..he was going to axe me in the face for saying boo ! plus he taught me how they chucked a mugger off a road bridge in paris at the rugby who tried to rob they're friend in a wheelchair.. by the sound of it the road bridge was one of ones over another road and quite high up...but they turned round and saw a chap with a blade asking for mates wallet..so they f**ked him off the bridge onto a busy road below..i asked no more and they didnt hang around to be asked questions..but in my book fair enough

Good skiing, excellent after-ski.

If you're not a big fan of winter sports, I recommend Oslo in June.

Not easy to drive to many interesting nearby places, unless, again, if you like skiing. Or mountains. Lillehammer area is nice.

Oslo, Gothenbrurg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Bergen, Stavanger. But it depends what you want. If you want to cold weather and winter wonderland types of seens, then Oslo is the best place to go in March.

It is also an advantage that in March, days have become a bit longer.
