when they have a corner and if our basic set up is giving other teams more chance than normal it is something that should concern us.... for all i know there could be countless examples of us setting up like that and other teams not playing the correct ball... if it is something atht is easy to solve he is right in bringing it up imo

Very few goals get scored form corners at either end,if you can change 1 simple thing to make it even less likely you will let one in then surely that is the correct thing to do?

Football isn't black and white. It is not as simple as saying if you always have someone on the near post you will not concede from there. What if by having that person there you are leaving another vulnerable area somewhere else. That other problem could be costing you 4 goals a season. So if you move the player from the front post you solve that but maybe you concede 3 goals a season at the near post. Which is the right thing to do? Same goes with zonal marking and the same goes with how we approach corners at certain times in certain games. Mark my word, the club will have done all the research in the world and examined every possible outcome and permutation and come to the conclusion that this is the right thing to do for this set of players in this circumstance. The examples are something like 3 goals in 3 seasons or something. Where is the stat that shows how many goals we have scored when setting up like that in the same circumstance? That is the fundamental point you are missing here. It is basic risk reward, I honestly thought you would get that. Sadly not.
