there appears to be a whole bunch of people in the corporate world who's whole job is based on bull**** and stabbing people people in the back.

Where as I am the type who wants to be left alone and get on with things. Now I am sure this goes on everywhere in the world but it seems to be turned up a notch in recent years.

People talking about work like Andy Gray and Richard Keys talking about women.

I hope with my future plans abroad there will be less c**ts in the workplace and I can get on with things.

Of course I realise there are these people everywhere but I hope there are less of them.

Free for all to get on a bus. Yes a bus!
People exiting through the front door too.

Bus driver used to say the bus is full and would leave. Now they ram them until there is no space. so the bus is now like the tube.

This place is beyond repair.

to discuss if the new air conditioner is too cold or too hot :-(

They went to the trouble to book a meeting room about this.

I wouldn't understand if we worked in the air conditioning department :banghead:

It's a DISGRACE. They are taking liberties!!

Personally, I blame that f**king uppie mob that moved into Hackney and tried to make us all believe that what is in fact is an absolute concrete infested ****hole is infact a very nice place where we should have farmers markets twice a month and special guest cider ales from Somerset. They make me sick. Have you been to Hoxton Square? There's a bit of grass there, interesting stuff. Ł10 to look at it.

That said, London is a c**t magnet. Whether there are fewer is probably a moot point but the density is certainly less, even in Yorkshire.

I worked in Old Street for 6 years from 1987 and you could count on less than 1 finger the number of occasions we would have socialised (ie went drinking) is said neighbourhood. See also Dalston and many other areas.

I suppose that is what happens in cities as cool areas become full and the estate agents push the cool people into the next area. Doesn’t happen in Dublin, a ****house remains a ****house and tends to become an even bigger ****house.

Pat Vegas

And when it's a late night it's always destination Dalston.

Especially now this hipster *******s is going on. They trying to make it like some sort of London version of Brooklyn.

All day Sunday in the Embassy on Essex Road and then the Medicine Bar on Upper Street, we were then taken by a friendly cab driver for late drinks to a place called 333 somewhere around Shoreditch.

I suspect it was some type of special Gimp night. There was one person being led around on a lead, another wrapped head almost entirely in bandages save for holes for his eyes, and of course to top it off he had his NH glasses on. These people were acting as if this was normal.

Crazy Londoner types.

Good lord. We stood at the bar like the proverbial sore thumbs.

horrible looking shops.

It takes nearly 2 hours to get home most nights. I get the bus as it's the tube option is not ideal it involves lots of changes. Most times the bus will change it's destination and finish early. So the next one that comes will be busy too.

I am renting a tiny flat and I have key to top up electricity :-(

When I realised that I no longer have my passion for the tube I knew it was time to leave :-(

At a guess I would say you are about 6 years late.

We were over for the Heineken Cup final which was on at Twickenham, naturally I was over just for pints. Munster lost their semi-final so we gave the game a swerve and went on the beer, cocaine and hookers.

Before Upper street/Essex Road became trendy. I used to feel nervous going down Essex road with all those gangs around.

Though these days it's far from it's peak 10 - 12 years ago. most of the pubs are not full like they used to be. I suspect it's the economy and the c**ts moving to a different area.

I'm in London once a month, give or take, I get down and feel a bit nostalgic for a few minutes but after that I cant wait to leave. By the time it's time for my train back I would gladly jump on one of those hand powered jobbies and return north under my own steam.

For some odd reason, the Japanese have practically taken over West Acton. It is also noticeable for being what must be the largest area in London that is completely devoid of pubs.

had a few lucky escapes.

I was sort of surrounded in every direction.

If I went one way it's Barnsbury running about. If I go another is Spa, Then Essex road direction it's all the ones you mentioned.

They'd question you too if you they didn't know your face. 'Where do you live? Angel. 'You are with Barnbury innit!' No I am not with anyone.

What is wrong with the overground from bowes park or palmers green? Straight Into moorgate, one stop to bank and walk?

How the hell are you getting there by bus??

Hillary
10-09-2013, 11:27 AM
You don't really get the same number elsewhere in London, I find.

Within a 10 minute walk, I have 5 public parks, a public sports ground, a canal and a couple of other open spaces. Jump on a bicycle and there's dozens of other places easily accessible.

It's not the Dales, but for a major metropolis, with all the accompanying entertainment, there's a lot of nature to enjoy as well (and you don't get shot at by farmers, either ;-) )
