View Full Version : I think Wilshere's point is that he isn't culturally English. Have England ever had any players

where English isn't their first language?

How does he even qualify? I thought you had to live here for 5 years or something before you got a passport?

to Germany as a teenager, hence the German accent. Have you heard Tony Woodcock speak recently? You wouldn't think he was English and Jan Molby picked up a Scouse accent.

Although I suspect he was alluding to the possible scenario of a foreigner representing England on the basis of being so **** his own national team would never have ever considered picking him and he has happened to be in England for long enough to be entitled to lick the 3 Lions.

You may recall with a some humour how Almunia once tarted himself to your lot.

Thank f**k he never had an Irish relative.

Might shut him up.

There are rules, no need to question them. He isnt going to wait until 2018 to play for england so the debate is pointless. J
