Anyone hurt? Can't imagine there was not.

Some minor injuries in the crowd. The catch fence broke but at least stopped the car launching into the stand.

Eerie similarities to Wheldon's fatal prang in Las Vegas two years ago.

Might be wrong. But I think they tried to bring an open wheel race to a stock car track. That doesn't work.

Only been to one race. The Goody's 400 @ Martinsville, Tennessee.

Goody's is a headache powder, I needed it after watching a whole race!

Been about 20 years, but I think the track is less than a mile long. Imagine going around 400+ times for 400 miles! Also, the stands are a lot steeper than they look in this pic. I wonder about those hanging around at that turn, they must have known they could be in danger?

Edit: 500 miles!

only .526 of a mile. So for a 500 they have to go in circles almost 1000 times!

guilty plea, I was not all that coherent that day!
