the CF needs to play with confidence. Giroud's hold up and link up play, and his physicality is essential to the emerging newlook Arsenal, creating space and options for our midfield runners. I do not want him unsettled. I want us to play the system to its full extent. Of course I want cover in case of injuries or rotation--better cover than Bendtner, that is.
So, I do not want us to spend 40m on a potential competitor. But rather 15m on a very good backup whop has a similar type of play (In short form, Suarez or Lewandowski: no. Llorrente or Ba, even on loan: yes.)
If we need a plan B with a more mobile smaller forward, then Pod or Theo will do just fine, given the other options we now have on the wings...
