almost didn't get on the coach for sunday now that the Arsenal have become 'great' again, and people want to go to games!

I've only left a game early once.

and it was against Coventry in the Capital one cup and we were 5-0 up or whatever.

but had the image of Wenger in a 40's zoot suits, all baggy and wide shoulders.

Am I on the right lines?

Are you satirising the modern game, or have you adjusted your position slightly? ISTR you had a certain amount of disdain for the grubby side of football. :gazidisin:

One always suspected what was really up, but chose to be in denial.

It's the same at the opera, NG; lifelong supporters (like me) dislike the fact that the place has filled up with corporates who wouldn't know an aria from an Elgar, and tipsy dollybird wives (like mine) who think Glyndebourne is all about new frocks and picnic hampers from Harrods and the court shoes they bought in Dubai.

Fact is though, without them the opera houses would all have to close down because the rest of us are simply unwilling or unable to pay for the thing ourselves. If we want to see the top talent, this is the only way to do it and these are the sort of people we are going to get.

Many of these "tossers" of yours won't actually be Arsenal supporters, or even football supporters, at all. But, so far as the club is concerned, their money is just as good as anybody's on the ST waiting list.

before halftime and similarly before the end of the game; We all go to football to enjoy a football match that lasts 90+ minutes. Are people really that desperate to have a drink at halftime that they put that ahead of the game?

I know toilets are not an issue because I use the toilet at halftime and never had an issue so it must be the drink or food.

and also offer them cash sums not to pop out for refills during the Hebrew Chorus, which seems to be NG's point.

They make everything we want to do possible, they help pay for it all.
