View Full Version : Gneville was saying the other night that IHO the Man Utd board would give Moyes as long as he needs

to get going - up to two years if necessary, and that Utd were not a manager-sacking type of club. I think it's too early to predict anything, and they've had a challenging fixture list, but if they were somehow to miss out on a CL slot presumably their thieving scoundrel owners would just have to take a bit less money out of the club next year.

I suppose the meme is that the group of players they have is a little bit short in certain areas, getting past their prime in other areas, and that only the unique characteristics of the former manager could blast them to victory. If so, how long before the spendsomef**kinmoney chants are heard in Manchester?

Perhaps their outlook might be different as they've had so much recent success anyway? A few barren years is hardly the end of the world.

*assuming they can get the players they want.

In terms of the summer I am very surprised they f**ked up given their usual modus operandi in respect of summer transfers.

Others may have a stronger sense of entitlement.

Malcolm Gladwell has it right. The morally superior position is to back the overdog, not the underdog. The underdog *expects* to lose and so is unaffected when they do. For the overdog, losing is a mentally crushing experience.

If they don't win it then they will welcome anybody other than City, perhaps Chelsea also as no f**ker wants to see Mourinho being Mourinho.

and probably the need to still be in Europe at that point. See also: us buying a top striker in Jan.

I've a feeling they might buy Ramsey next summer. Maybe Cesc as well if he's not happy at the time.

it stops working, your affection for it – deriving as it is from its functional use – will quickly dissipate. If it stops working altogether, you might even smash it on the ground and call it a c**t. (or a senile French c**t, if it was made in France)

was new in the job also. Great at marketing but inexperienced in the Transfer Market. Some pretty fundamental errors made during the summer that you couldn't see the former regime having made.

away from your next title (like Bayern, for example) must add a certain sense of calm generosity of spirit.

Our own situation is only complicated by the longevity of our current manager. Uncharted waters for a big club and supporters are not used to including the bigger picture in our deliberations.

bearing in mind the number of JCLs they have, it might be as early as this summer

are not cup tied in Europe: Baines (who I don't think they really need) and Herrera (who I don't know a lot about but they seem to rate him).

Indeed a target of our own won't be cup tied either - one L Suarez.

just not with the same kind of visceral anger we saw from our thick fat friend on Arse**** TV after the Villa game, because game after game that would be emotionally draining.

It's why our fans *are* so angry. We don't lose enough games for them to drain them of their energy to express their anger.

The point I failed to make was that, often, behaviour is what it is regardless of success or failure.

I'm getting it from all sorts of people at work now: "Oh you Arsenal fans wanted Wenger out the other week." I have to explain that despite the noisy discontents, most of us had still backed the manager.

Also, some press reports are treating the fans in the same, simplistic, binary manner - as too does Monty, who wants to kill us all.

Like I said before, that's why we simply had to sign Mesut Özil. It's not just about actual football supporters anymore.
