An average midfielder who had one good season.

Wondered if he still thinks that :-)

I like Monty :-)

I used to think there was hope for young Monty - that he might eventually grow up into a decent human being.

Now a small part of that assertion of him as a player was the usual sour grapes which happens when a player chooses to take his employ elsewhere, the sudden and rapid decline in people’s opinion of him as a footballer.

The thing with Flamini was that he was brilliant in his final season with us, within that system and with those players. There had been nothing in his career before that to suggest he would be that good, to the extent that 12 months prior to his final departure none other than Mr Wenger himself was only too happy for him to leave the club. Accordingly some felt it may have been a one-off.

The question asked was would he be as good second time round, his career in Italy being chequered as he often failed to nail down a first team place.

So far he has been excellent, beyond question.

You should be aware that retrospective gloating is an ugly trait in a person and only serves to make the gloater look a c**t as opposed to the person who one is attemting to mock.

but I'm not a fan of hypocrisy either. I expect we're all guilty of it to some extent but it's worth trying to keep it to a minimum imo.

(Nothing like a bit of LSD to help learn about it, as well.)

In practice it's hard to see Peter as a bigger c**t than Monty.

I think we all know we could travel the globe twice and not meet a bigger c**t than our M.

I am simply not a fan of revisionist gloating, something i see increasingly occuring on here.

For example people being criticised for simply wanting the club to spend money in the summer, the "spendsomefackingmoney" as they have been labelled.

It was always burning, etc :-)

Anyway, i was being a c**t on purpose so it doesnt count. Still, being labelled a smaller c**t than monty might be seen as damning wth faint praise :-)
