View Full Version : We really drove home the death of tippy-tappy last night

Especially nice that we did it by playing some excellent quick passes with lots of third-man-running and swift interchanges between positions.

One could almost say it was very much like the very tippy-tappy many people sought the end of.

Yes, it was all about the pace of the passing and movement, wasn't it?

Of course the old tippy tappy was also in evidence in the second half, generally at a somewhat slower pace, when we just kept the ball.

very naughty. Quite frankly I am upset at all this goalscoring - just gives the ball back to the opposition

I had a big long and involved discussion in the pub last week where I put forward the viewpoint that Wenger effectively invented the strikerless formation in the early zeroes.

They were adamant that bergkamp and henry played up front in a fairly orthodox 4-4-2.

See what drink can do, LA?

Apart from heart and desire, you see football is a simple game filled with many, many abstract concepts.

It's why the english excel at it, see, vocabulary. The french dont have a word for passion, or desire, and if they do it's probably a very effeminate one.

I was thinking this through last night actually, wide-forwards aside it's a very Rinus Michels way of playing.

talking about our 4-6-0 formation. Think that had as much to do with the nature of the players as Arsene's tactics. When we played Kanu and Wiltord we were probably more orthodox I think.
