If I've understood it correctly, it means the batsman has got nothing to lose? So I see this chap wacking the ball way into the stands. So such mental is the nature of this game that releving the batsman of the pressure makes it so much easier to hit the ball? Or was it just a freak incident that the first time I watch a free hit, ithe ball enters orbit?

takes away the risk of getting out but at the same time the batsman is under pressure to clear he ropes really hence they tend to play shots that they aren't comfortable with

Is there any logical explanation to why the arch British sport football never became popular in the colonies?
