If you look on Youtube for, say, the highlights of our game last night, you'll find that someone has put the Sky Sports News highlight bit on there.

So. Someone has got moving pictures, and sound, off the telly, and put them on the internet. That's amazing, isn't it? I mean how would you even start to do that? Telly. Internet. Different things, see? Unless you can have a telly in your computer? Or a computer that's a telly?

I think it's magic.

A record. Easy.

Fleetwood Mac last night. Mick still as mad as an otter, Lyndsey Buckingham a f**king genius. Like watching history, it was.

Christine McVie came on stage for a song and Peter Green was in the audience. Quite the reunion.

My old manor! I'd always assumed it was in West London as almost everything Euston Films did was shot out there.

Put something solid but flexible in front of those waves like a diaphragm or ear drum and you catch the energy of the wave as a physical vibration. Add a pointed stick and a rotating cylinder of hot wax and a recording of the sound can be etched into the wax, with the pointed stick describing the characteristics of the sound in minute detail on the walls of the groove in the wax.

Now turn this around and put another pointed stick, attached to a big ear-trumpet thingy into the groove of the cooled, rotating wax cylinder and the stick will wibble around according to the shape of the etchings in the groove, making the vibrate and generate sound waves matching the recorded sound.

And that's it. Things like vinyl and electrical amplification are just refinements.
