But there does seem to be a lot of time and space for opposition players in the box from corners. It seems a very sloppy goal to give away.

You cannot eliminate every goal conceded and if you ignore the idiots on motd etc and understand football, you will see the positives of partial zonal defending on corners can be very effective if executed properly.
