Valerie Vaughn (Valkyrie): The heroine of In the Shadow of Idols. A veteran CIA field officer who joined because of 9/11 with the goal of preventing further attacks on U.S. soil. Extroverted, smart, and beautiful, she has developed a great network of sources which makes her a valuable commodity. She uses her smarts and creativity to outwit her opponents in the deadly duel of Intelligence.
Matt Kucera (Echo): Matt Kucera was happily working at a concierge in a Washington D.C. hotel when he suddenly finds himself recruited to serve as Valkyrie's analyst for the PIA. The job is intense and demanding and he struggles to both learn it and to gain Valkyrie's trust. He is helped with this by his boss, Alpha, and two coworkers Bravo and Papa.

Bravo: A veteran analyst at PIA, former Special Forces member, he also trains and befriends Echo.
Papa: A veteran analyst at PIA. Friends with Bravo and Echo.
Mr. Carlyle: The CEO of PIA.
Thomas Kennedy-Bush: The new Director of the CIA post-privatization. He befriends Echo.
Delta: Another veteran analyst at PIA, handler of Bitch Slap.
Muntader Jassam: Owner of a construction company in Iraq who, after "The Call from Above", devises a plot for revenge on the U.S. ""In late October, America will be devastated by seeing thousands of Americans die, poisoned in the shadow of their false idols," he vows.

getting critiqued. So it's definitely a labor of love type thing rather than value for time. So far anyways.

I shortened the time on the sequel to about 8 or 9 months, and I think 6 months is possible if that's all I do when I am not working, but I don't know that I will hit that mark ever.
