Or should that be "Hooo ah yae voatan?" now you're independents?

I look forward to Welsh-esque dual-language signage.

So, immigrants living in Scotland can say yes but I as an exile can't say anything

Which is kinda odds with ex-pats in Spain etc in a GE

FWIW, I think I'd be voting Naw if I could

Essentially the question is "do the people who live in Scotland want to be independently governed or stay as a part of the UK". I'm not sure why people who don't actually live there should have a vote.

my intention to GO BACK to my country of birth become (ir)relevant

I have always planned to retire to my family home in Scotland and don't think it is unreasonable to have some say in how the country is run when I eventually do

When deciding on how a country is governed, my view is that those permanently residing there should get the primary say. Harsh on you, I accept.

How would you have voted, incidentally? I rather hope it's a 'no' vote to independence myself.

Vote. Concocting complicated rules over who can and cant vote cots a fortune to administer.

Individuals dont really matter in this. Harsh but there you go.

I know you meant you can't have 'special cases' :-)

Leaving aside whether it is fair or not. I am not even sure there is an answer to that.

As long as scotland gets a fair crack at a vote everyone is happy. These things cost f**king millions you know
