I don't have a problem with picking a young player that can improve over the years and provide a good decade of runs/wickets to the cause, but with Compton - he isn't good enough now and if he does imrpove in the next 3/4 years to be a top test opener he'll be too old and we'll have to f**k him out the window.

There are many good players at county level, most of which are not good enough to play test cricket. Unfortunately for Compton, he is one of them.
