what a c**t

Rory Smith ‏@RorySmithTimes

Not a slight on Ramsey. Get why it's mentioned. Just seems that comes up way more than, say, Barkley's leg breaks. Comes a time to move on.

Suspect it's because it was televised, it was Stoke, it was gruesome, and it fitted a narrative, personally.

ffs what an idiot

that there is no need to add "who once broke his leg" everytime Ramsey is mentioned. Obviously this week is a bad time to point that out though

from the leg break? A journey plenty of footballers struggle with completing?

And the stoke fans booing ramsey all play a part in keeping it in the news

the fact that he is playing in team in form and full of confidence is also a major factor in his performances - it isn't "just" a case of getting over the leg break

His goals are merely the icing on the cake of a dramatic improval of form that began at the beginning of the year

I'd say the most important players in our form have been Mertesacker and to a lesser extent Koscielny

It doesnt completely explain current form, obviously.

Ramsey has added maturity both to the way he defends the back line, and in his distribution and has been key to our improved defensive performance of late. How many times do you see him breaking up opposition attacks before they come to any real fruition?

That said, he's always been a dynamic presence for us, just now he's added composure, intelligence and confidence to his performances.

He still gives the ball away sometimes, and there was the penalty.

He hasnt transformed as a player.

Where as before he would dither on the ball and often make the wrong decision, he is now much more efficient in his distribution, and his ability to make driving runs into the box are a boon when opposition defenders also have to worry about the likes of Ozil, Wilshere and Walcott.

And that penalty was never a penalty.

And yes, it wasnt a penalty
