Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "I believe it was important not to give the first goal away. Marseille had an excellent first half. We were a bit timid and in the second half we grew up and took advantage of our good moments in the game. It was a victory linked with patience and experience.
"We know we have all these players who can make something special. I knew it would be a difficult game. Marseille can beat anybody.
"He (Walcott) scored the most difficult of all his chances since the start of this season. Maybe this will help him. When you miss chances, you always wonder when will I score.
"(The penalty was) generous. Maybe the referee thought it was a penalty, I don't know. It (Ramsey's goal) is outstanding. It's linked with confidence. Now every time he's in a good position he scores.
"It's very difficult to compare away wins. We just focus on the next game. It's good as it shows we are defensively a bit more stable, a bit more serene, and it explains with our defensive stability we can win the games"
