Early review of GTA V, only got to play for a couple of hours last night

Pros - Characters and their dialogue is excellent as always, the load times once in the game are virtually non-existant, the map is huge and open from the start and the vehicles look so much better with far more variety. Radio stations have some great tunes and the talk radio station provides excellent satire

Cons - Still hate the delay between asking the character to run and him actually breaking into a weird looking run. The vehicles are far too twitchy to drive, same issue as with all GTA's, pick up any sort of speed and the slightest movement of the controller and the car/bike shoots in that direction

I also think a 32" tele isn't big enough to clearly see all that I need, the crosshair of any gun is tiny...or perhaps I'm just :old:

That delay you're seeing and the twitchiness when driving sounds like input lag on your display.

I f**ked up and genuinely ended up Ill, so I got home from work early and couldn't even play it, im just laying on the sofa now and haven't even opened it.

unless you have kids, I cant play GTA when they're awake, but you could easily do a mission or 2 a night you must be able to find half an hour, what about when you're posting on here?

Also only install the 1st disc, not the 2nd.....runs better according to techy types

Is it entertaining enough to explore various locations on the map as well as doing recreational activities (golf, tennis etc)?

Can that keep you busy for hours on end? I'd like to think there's more to the game than just missions...

Mrs 7 is a very balanced and easy going sort but quite capable of inflicting the thousand yard stare, with a houseful of kids, full time work and all the requisite demands brought about by running a house. :wimp:

Being entirely up front here I don't even know what the game entails.

Shooting I assume based on a debate from yesterday. Before then I thought it was about driving very fast.

flying for ages out over the sea, then saying "on the count of three all jump out" "1...2...3..." one jumps everyone else stays in the chopper, you fly off hearing "youuuuu cuuuuuuunts" takes them half an hour to swim back to shore :hehe:

GTA IV was like driving a boat. Find the handling and grip a lot better in GTA V.
