"Fremskrittspartiet" or "the Progress" party is not an right wing extremist party. It can absolutely not be likened to the EDL. It is more like the Tory party.
In his youth, ABB was a memeber of the party, but quit because he thought they were not extreme enough.
They are critical to certain aspects of the immigration, but they are not racists. A lot of their members are first generation immigrants.
The governement that is about to be formed is a coalision governement consisting of four parties. "Høyre" is the largest and will get the PM, it is a very moderate conservative party who is not much further to the right than the Labour Party. "Venstre" ironically enough meaning "The Left" is considered conservative and have a strong focus on the environment. "KrF" are the Christian Democrats.
Venstre and KrF will serve as a very heavy counter weight to FrP when it comes to issues relating to the environment, immigration, schooling etc.
