View Full Version : Oddly enough, what this Ozil signing most reminds me of, is when I first heard Mumford and Sons

Though if I had walked past them setting up and saw the banjo and accordion and bass I would have snorted contemptuously to myself and wished them luck and walked on. But if I heard them play, I'd have walked a mile to track the source down.

Their music epitomizes what I like.

I certainly don't expect Obama to be given his every wish, that is the strength of the US 3 branches, but dialogue is the key to progress.

part of the GOP is so anti Obama that becomes counter productive, and another part, though more reasonable, are terrified of the base and being 'Primaried'.

I never got the abuse of Gazza for his crying. I was tearful too afterwards! massive respect for his passion to being an England player. Sadly lacking these days by some.

He pushed through the healthcare and now that's a mess...no employer wants to payfor it and as a result hours are being cut...only 43 percent of the pop have full time jobs now! His own labor unions are bailing on it...he has botched the immigration bill and even reagan was better liked in russia ffs....that's just for starters

U/E level continues to drop and is now lower than when Obama took office, and having experienced the worst global economic meltdown in generations.

The economy is recovering since the dire days of circa 5 years ago.

I swear, I grind through Bush the Lesser for 7 years hating having been proved right about everything, and it's August and the Obama v McCain is in full swing, and I remember thinking, "Man, thank God at least we're here, because Bush is a lame duck and he can't do anything more to us."

:nono:
Never underestimate Republican's ability to take even more money from the middle class.

The very same week, or next week, old Baldy walks into Congress and says "I need billions from the taxpayers to pay for Wall Street's gambling debts or we blow up the country."

Where Obama has gone wrong, imo, was listening to Conservatives. Debt! They screamed. Don't spend money you fool! They cried. So we have a nice debt picture but no jobs and the Repubs won't give him a titch of credit lol.

Obama is poorly advised. America needed a fighter and we got a bargainer. We needed Teddy and/or FDR and got Neville sodding Chamberlain.

Are through the roof....I'm not seeing any great recovery here in mass tbh...we are all just floating along getting by, but not making the money we used to...I want someone to sort it out, but I don't think it will be him...he seems more of a social issues president, than a economy fixer....hopefully the next guy will have business credentials

Herbert freaking Hoover.

This is a huge misconception - the skillset for a successful President are completely different than that of a business owner.

And I agree with you - Obama should have #spentsumfakkinmoney and done a proper Keyneian stimulus to get the jobs going and told the debt screamers to fk off.

And I feel repubs want it for cheap labor for their party members...it's a big 'f**k off you c**t' to the likes of me that went through the legal process to get here

no American wants to do, right? And when they're undocumented they can be used, abused, and then deported - wipe your hands clean and NEXT!

If we truly wanted to solve this we'd simply start fining the companies that hire them. But we don't so clearly we need that labor. So my point is humanitarian/capitalistic - if we as a society are benefiting, then we should pay for the benefit. And the people who should pay are those who benefit, i.e. the companies that use them - ergo higher corporate taxes.

Or we could keep on with a semi-slavery thing and chuck them out when they can't work efficiently enough - it's what Washington is trying to implement with all Americans with the "entitlement" cuts.

it's a huge dilemma for them. The fringe hates immigration reform, while the moderate conservatives know that the demographics are against them.

This is why the fall back plan is gerrymandering and voter suppression.

I also went through the proper, expensive and exhaustive legal process. Worth it of course, it is a great nation and I am honored to be here.

We're talking the illegal immigrants, right? And again, if so, we're seeing the middle class taxpayer have to pick up the true cost as corporations reap the benefits :walmart:

workers salaries have stagnated/reduced, while the corporations and ultra rich are watching their share massively increase. The arrows are going in the wrong direction.
