View Full Version : Jack Wilshere. I don't see the big deal about him imo

everytime I see him play he looks a little off imo.

Like nearly there but not quite. He plays the nearly perfect pass etc. Like he's almost ready to be tremendous but not really.

I don't know I'm not convinced.

that's when the whole assists thing becomes such a joke yet people who don't really understand football still cling to it because it allows them to make an "informed" and "intelligent" comment on the game

Midfield/no.10 role now. He will be more of a box-to-box Gerrard type.

He really probably shouldn't be playing too many games anyway

A young lad, presumably fit after having enjoyed a full pre-season without injury, yet the widely held belief is that he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool and nursed through the season.

All players of course need a rest and/or break and our increased squad size will allow this.

The above is based on the belief that he was fully injury free at the beginning of pre-season.

Remember players like Giggs, Owen, Gerrard all started young and all had big problems in their early 20s. Plus given the way he plays he gets an awful battering. Pure common sense needed. Don't think it is cotton wool - just sensible management

He is too good to leave out and is not going to develop that final level of fitness without playing games.

Of course he needs careful management, sitting out your domestic cups and the odd Premiership game, and hopefully Wenger can do that but I have seen people alluding to him voluntarily missing as many as playing which is wrong.

when he is in the red zone, to use the vernacular

Indeed, when he really plays in that role, it will be.
