being nice to you IMO for an extra £100. Probably more sex too particularly if you pre download 50 shades and go to the gym for a year!!

Or make sure you get the touch screen kindle if she's simply not worth it

with a 30 day time limit. Like a library. However you won't find any of the popular books available for free.

2-day shipping is free if when you buy stuff. Prime may not be worth if if all you are going to do is read books.

Kindle Fire does give you MOST, not all, of the apps you would be able to get with an Android mobile phone.

An annual fee(think we paid 70 dollars) you get free shipping on most purchases and subscription to their online video library(mini Netflix) and great deals on books e.t.c.......it more than pays for itself if you use it as much as we do, but may not work for everyone

it all depends on when, where and how you are going to manage your ebook collection, where you are going to read them, and for how long etc.

Gone are the days when a Kindle had an internal Sim-Card paid for by Amazon which had international roaming for email and data to download books even when abroad, the new ones need a Wifi connection which is fine for at home, but not so good abroad or out and about.

If your wife is typically going to read on the device outdoors in the sunshine, then you want an Ebook Reader, like a Kindle Paperwhite, as the screen is readable in direct sunlight, is easy on the eyes, but don't expect to do anything but read books on it.

Something like an iPad Mini or Nexus 7 with the Kindle App among others means your wife can read books from Amazon as well as Magazine's that she can subscribe to on the device or buy single issues etc, as well as browse the web, make video calls, send imessages etc.

The Kindle Paperwhite, will last a few weeks on a single charge, as e-ink displays use very little power, the downside is you need the light on to read on it, though the paperwhite has a frontlight, but it's like being 7 again and playing the original Gameboy in the dark using a torch, not the nicest thing.

last thing - Amazon Prime is great, pretty much anything Amazon fulfil the order for is Prime Eligible, and you get free Next Day Delivery in the UK with Amazon Prime, my subscription has paid itself a hundred times over for £49 a year it's a no brainer if you use Amazon often.
