Even David Dein was excited, kept coming out, pulling his shirt cuffs out of his sleeves, adjusting his tie, he was well nervous. We had a world great arriving, and hadn't seen anything like it before. There were some, yeah but since he left Ajax remarks, 7M is a lot of dosh, but really it was falling on deaf ears. As I recall, the chant "We've got Dennis Bergkamp" started at that first friendly, and I think that summed up the feeling of the fans, even the most discerning.
