If Spurs got 4th Bale maybe have stayed and they attract some decent players
If Bale still went to Real, would Spurs now have Ozil as part of deal and other new players also
Either way there would have been no Ozil and likely no world class players even looking our way.

But nightmare avoided by making that 4th place and thanks to Spurs a signing I never thought would happen, did not even give Ozil a thought as simply thought he was too important a player at Real Madrid.

He is twice the player Bale is, proven totally where as Bale has had just 2 very good season where his pace and power were a difference but technically is he that good? Think he will be found out there and with added pressure of basically replacing a player the fans and Real players loved and then paid £42m more for, madness

And the winners are us in a huge way

Not only is he world class, contributing heavily himself all those around will be lifted and improve and do we think he would have come here if not sold the ambition? It was clear in his statement he was, so they have we hope promised more players and he will help attract them.

We not even paid that much for him, as we got £11m for Gervihno, Mannone and Chamackh, and cleared a ton of wages, so that is £31m and wages more than covered, and even likes of Cardiff and Stoke have laid that out with TV money, so there is plenty of financial power that can be spent,

Flamini was only seen as an unexciting signing due to fact he was free and used to play for us, but fact also is he is in prime years and likely better tactically for playing for one of the top Italian sides for last 3 years.

We do need a striker that is crystal clear and that is no knock on Giroud, like what he gives a lot, but it's a long season and even if we do just play one up front you need 2 top quality strikers - Lebanowski in January?

Arsenal (forgetting fact we signed this deadwood)did a great job of getting rid of all the clubs deadwood, there is not many players not be happy to see play now in squad.

read all day that we bought in an area of strength and not needed, well Arteta and Rosicky are still very valuable players and maybe will be good squad players but are not the future and also anyone who has seen Ozil play and makes that comment is just plain stupid as he is genuine world class and no matter a strength you take it each and every time.

Remember when we got Ian Wright when Campbell was on fire, he was the future, and everyone wandered why? Campbell had a decent career, wrighty was legend.

Not post on forums just read but it is that Bergkamp moment where was truly excited and needed to get that out somewhere! so apologies and promise not to write so much next time but that is what a world class signing does

So excited to see Ozil fit into this team and bring it up a level and hopefully take club on way to being truly competing for title

The not winning trophies thing drives me nuts as the only things worth winning have the strongest teams in Europe in way and that is PL and CL

My issue has been not competing and 4th being the chase from Xmas onwards.

No guarantees we win anything still as all these teams will still spend millions and be strong, but you want to be going into April each year head to head with these teams.

4th was not a trophy it never has been but this particular year it was possibly defining we made it and first evidence of that is Ozil signing as no way that happens if we were in Europa.
