I thought they looked OK tbh, but at no point was I as fearful as I was when they had Bale playing against us
will badly miss bale dynamic edge and quality. None of their signings come close to his ability to change a game in a second.

spark of modic or dynamic attacking player of bale. none of their signings are game changers.

but puts into perspective what they have had to spend to compete BEFORE our outlay on Ozil.

only when they bought defoe on did they have any punch to their attacks. But bale short term will prove a major loss for them. Can see liverpool fighting it out for 5th with them this season.
for a 28 year old has been.

6th.
but they'll be up there at the end of the season. I still hope for a Sunderland-esque implosion with all their new signings

We've still got the January window to add more fire power before we have to meet them again (unless we get them in the carling cup)
pace in 5th, 6th and 7th.

Never mind the fact I didnt know who any of them were before they signed and since they have I have been apoplectic that we didnt get them.
Football fans, great.

next few years. can see their time as being competative rivals getting less and less with us over the years. We pull very clear of them.

And is also a cracking replacement for Bale

players they bought are europa league quality. their good don,t get me wrong but they not good enough to push them on to the next level.

Bale and Adebayor were 2 players I feared.
Without them they don't have that person who will the game on their own. (not yet anyway, it may come later)
some nice midfield but no real attacking edge like they once did with modric, bale , van der vart.

...but I dont think they did badly at all

Some of them have looked decent players at their former clubs.
other day we could have won 3-0.

bit like Ronaldo does but it doesn't fool me.
I can't explain what I mean.

Kos, Per for example. The fact that they have so many new players all at once is a bit of an issue. If you are going to build half a team you need to have a lot that are already up to speed and proven premiership quality (like City did).
You could imagine them struggling a bit, failing to pick up points ad then the pressure being on AvB before the season's out

This is all we know and all we need to know.
and time again late into games. It true though that their not awful team and are still a decent outfit. just lack that game changer now.

Great at doing what he does, but what he does can be difficult to accommodate within a team.

Not too many teams come to The Emirates and have more possession than us. You could argue that we were happy to invite them on to us being 1-0 up but I don't think that was entirely the case.

Bale drags his arms along the ground and Gerard always has his arms in the air.
Actually the monkey references to Bale are a bit sad really I don't like resorting to them.

Certainly in their home games with Southampton and Sunderland. Lot's of players standing about waiting for Bale to do something.
