So, would a person please be so kind as to furnish me with the reasons and/or excuses we have jumped on this morning to defend Arsene’s failure or refusal to bring in a striker?

Firstly can I say that Sanogo does not count and secondly please don’t be so silly as to suggest we don’t need one given AW’s very public and at times embarrassing summer attempts to land one.

made a huge difference. Can't see what else he can do than buy a stop gap whihc most people would have moaned about anyway.
Could argue he was too quick selling Gerviniho but would be a tad harsh givne the stick that fella got.

Seriously I remain concerned by our lack of Striking options.

I am curious as to whether we may see Walcott play a more advanced role with the extra midfield options that a signing like Oezil provides, but that said it is hard to see any reversion to 4-4-2.

Not happy about no strikers bought but there is a strong signal sent by buying Oezil and maybe quality strikers will be keener to sign now that we can be viewed as serious players in the Transfer market again. In time of course....

His ego now believes that there may possibly be one player at Arsenal who might be talented enough to supply him with sufficiently good ball that he may score occasionally.

but the sellers wouldn't sell. Man u wanted Cesc then paid more than they needed for Fellaini. Chelsea wanted Rooney & didn't get him. It wasn't only us.

He tried to buy a striker but did not get one but it hardly the end of the world when we have already giroud, pod, walcott, santi all scoring goals a lot for us last season

Higuain and Suarez failed, Benzema perhaps (we don't know if we actually went for him).

Still considering Suarez has been dead for weeks I can't believe there was nobody else given our scouting networks that could be identified.

The Ba interest yesterday was flawed from the off.

then ignore. I was just pointing out bit stupid to complain about lack of strikers when we already have six at the club.

But clearly the marquee signing in Ozil was our priority at the death and sets a new tone to follow come January.

By which time Luis will be heading our way :cloud9:

30k a week for the privilege, 60k on their terms. Then the c**t would have wanted paying.

He clearly wanted a striker, just strikes me as odd he has gone without.

Don’t come crying to me DG when the French homo gets injured or has a dip in form

or a long-term choice - hence going for the short-term options. We are hardly the only team in the position of not getting exactly what we wanted. As for Ba it is only a couple of seasons ago they leant us a player on the last day of the window. I doubt it was entirely without a chance

I do appreciate the signal buying Oezil has sent out though.

Just use "oe" instead. That's the custom for non-master racers.

For a short term solution in Ba, probably thinking he will try again next summer for the big one. Chelsea wouldn't loan us Ba, Arsene didn't want to spend money buying deadwood when he just got rid of a load.

And slating him for his incompetence, then he does something like this, you still have to look for faults even in the good, so that you can maintain a position of slagging him off and slating him for his incompetence.

Because I understand, I'm not bitter.

I simply say, let's wait and see how the new players fit in, lets wait to see the impact of Ozil. Lets see how Wenger sorts out the striker problem if we have to do without Giroud before Podolski gets back.

Now if you can show me numerous times where I have been slagging off Wenger then we can talk. Fact is I don't. Questioning things is not the same as slagging off.

Nor would I ever want to follow a doctrine of believing everything he does is correct.
