As you will already know I have returned to the Premier League to more adulation than when I first arrived. The praise and the eulogies are normal. I am both beautiful and flawless and everybody knows this.
Basking in the glory of my own return I was reminded of a similar situation just a few years ago when I was first appointed Real Madrid manager. When I was growing up in Lisbon I attended the private school "El Youngo Specialiali" which means "Young Specialists". Naturally the school has never forgotten me and asked me to return and manage a one off football match between the students and the teachers. I was to manage the teachers.
On inspecting the squad I was alarmed to find an unacceptable level of comittment and fitness amongst the teaching staff. So, on the morning of the big match I sacked four of them and replaced them with Drogba (Geography), Lampard (History), Terry (English) and Ashley Cole (Maths).
It was an inspired move and my team romped to victory scoring eighty five goals to the shellshocked students zero. We would have scored eighty six but I instructed Didier to miss a last minute penalty so as not to humiliate the students. I am not a monster.
After the match I booked an open top bus to celebrate with the team through the streets of Lisbon. The trophy was a gold plated frieze depicting my face shining above the country of Portugal. I commissioned this especially and challenged the students to make a bigger effort next year to win it - but I have not been invited back. I don't understand this but I can tell you the students have learned a valuable lesson to repsect their elders and always play to win no matter what the situation.
Apparently grades in Geography, History, English and Maths have dropped alarmingly in recent years but this is a small price to pay for Sporting success.
Thank you for your interest in Jose Mourinho and good luck against Tottenham at the weekend!
