Mike: Spurs have done amazing work in the transfer window. Be afraid Arsenal fans...very afraid.

Neme Neme: With the amount spent and quality injected, it could only get better. An outside chance of a title challenge I think.

Rob Flower: Spurs have strengthened impressively, they'll take 3rd place.

Nick Bell: We've gone from being a one man team to a potential world class team - AVB has all the components for a top 3 finish.

Andrew Leason: Definitely stronger just hope they can all gel..may take a bit of time but sure going to be fun to watch!

dalfredo: Definitely stronger! Lost our best player in a generation but replaced with the best squad we've had since the 50's!

King Monkey: Spurs already are stronger, we have invested very well in quality players, good strong technical midfield.

Mark: Spurs will be a much stronger side. They've bought very cannily & will barely notice Bale's departure.

Atiq Bhagwan: Already stronger. Last season they relied on a once in a career run from Bale but now they have options and balance.

Dave Straw: If Bale goes abroad, then yes. Losing a player to a Premier League rival (Utd) would be more keenly felt.

Good time to be a spurs fan.

Let's be honest for a moment. We're all a bit envious of what's going on over there and are more concerned about them than in any season I can remember

They tend to summer well.

May tends to be a bit of a nightmare for them :-)

The litmus test is whether or not they turn out to be any good

Last season their first choice midfield contained Scott Parker.

They may have a better overall squad in terms of depth, but of the players they've bought, only envious of Capoue. They've bought players that no top 12/15 team wanted. Plus, they now need to gel.

Even where we have nothing.

For spurs, they only need to be better than what they had.

Supermac, Bergkamp, Campbell excited me. Davor Suker did as well.

Run of the mill signings aren't that thrilling to me. For a start, it generally means that a player I've supported in the previous season won't be playing as much or at all.

I do quite admire the way spurs have cut their cloth. OK, Chelsea boxed their ears over Wilian but in terms of recruiting decent looking players, they appear to have shopped around sensibly and pulled in their intended targets.
If they manage to get the guy from Roma and then follow that with Erikson, then the Bale cash has done its job.

Bale was annoyingly talismanic and will be a huge loss.
These new players will need at least half a season to see how they blend together.
