I recently had to tell a bus driver I could do that. He didn't believe me, so I tried it and felt all smug when it worked.

I can see that they think everyone over 60 will have a bus pass, kids under 16 or still in education by 18 will have passes, so everyone else should be able to afford an oyster card and ensure they keep a minimum of a £5 on it. Which is good in theory.

They might also be looking at drivers simply doing that, driving!
