View Full Version : The beauty of keeping your gob shot is that Bale is behaving worse than Suarez and it seems fine

Poor Luis was made to train on his own, while the press pawed over his every word and that of Rodgers', while Bale is effectively on strike, first on holiday and now boycotting training, and being everything we expected Suarez to be to force a move. Funny old game, ain't it, Saint?

There is a will within spuds to sell Bale. There is a will within Liverpool to not sell Suarez.

Makes quite a difference.

Part of me suspects that Suarez may well have behaved himself very differently had Real been in for him and Liverpool had declined their offers.

I doubt he ever really wanted to join us. Perhaps he was willing to given the lack of options available to him, not the same as actually wanting.

I think Spurs, Levy to be precise, is playing the transfer very well so far.

triggers a chain of transfer movements that could strengthen their rivals, ie us. Then yes, that is good. They have done their business, got who they wanted in and are just stopping everyone else doing the same. It is the last ace they hold, so they may as well play it hard and long. It could even cause other deals to collapse.

Of course if the Bale deal collapses (which it won't), then they are left £100 out of pocket and bang in trouble paying for all their shiny new assets.

They still have the asset, just not the cash. Means they might struggle to pay the electricity bill but the balance sheet will still look okay.

and now Madrid can force the price down, knowing that spurs have to sell

Di Maria?

Or it could be Real selling to someone else and us buying someone from that club... None of us know what is going on really. But the Bale deal certainly has the potential to be the trigger to get this last stage of the window going.

and they have sold a few duffers to raise some cash.... have they actually spent £100m now that Willian hasn't joined

Of course we don't know the details, but I think it is fair to say they have bought to replace Bale. In the same way we bought Giroud and Podolski to replace RvP.

Don't get me wrong, lot of money but that is what football clubs do, spend money.

Still think he will go. Probably would be gone already had Willian signed. Don't think Marve's theory about strengthening rivals holds water. I doubt Levy gives a f**k about clubs other than his own.
