In the industry we'd generally refer to crossover SUV, but what do we know?

Hold on a minute......
I live in Iceland where we DO get snow. Rav4 is probably the worst in class, it is actually ridiculed here.
Get a proper vehicle, Patrol, Pajero or a Cruiser. DO NOT GET A RAV4!
If you want something in the class of the Rav4 (which I don´t understand but anyway..), get the VW one or the Mazda one, much better in snow and the fuel economy is so much better.

Thus, it's hardly offensive - like calling us Brits, really*
* NB I don't follow this line of argument with the inhabitants of Nigeria or Niger.

"Oi mate, yes you with the yellow skin and slitty eyes, do you mind if I call you nip?"
In career terms it strikes me as a questionable move.

The opening credits referred to the teams taking part as "The Poms. The Windies. The P*kis. And the AUSSIES."
Quite taken aback, I was.

Ok, good logic. Case closed. Go for the Rav4
