they will have spent nearly £85million this summer. I thought we were supposed to be the moneybags this summer ? where have they got the money from ? have they already agreed the bale transfer but agreed with madrid to keep it quiet until end august ?

they not.

I wish we'd kept our mouths shut rather than spouting off about how much money we had now.

Ivan isn't the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to football, put it that way

By getting new players in first it negates negativity of losing their best player. Quite smart really.

Swiss Ramble, no? Spurs' advantage is that they are a stealth sugar-daddy club. No big splash owner like Mansour or RA, just the steady strickle of 10s of 000,000s of **** free money *****

So, they don't have the perception of wealth that leads to the wealth tax but they still get to spend shedloads.

Probably to placate them and avoid awkward questions. But I don't recall anybody ever giving a figure, like the mythical £70m war chest which has subsequently crept up to over £100m.

Historically they've always paid out on a deferred staged basis, while insisting on up front money when they sell. Maybe just a bit more savvy than our band of accountants over the pond.

But he did say we could compete with the biggest clubs in the world with transfer fees now.

I feel he walk talking about last season's prices. They seem to have jumped up to another echelon now.

we get for them would equate to hefty profits.

Spurs are funded by Levy. Make no mistake about it.

It's Joe Lewis in the Bahamas (Tax exile) who is the billionaire owner.

Never. And if he did he would get a huge clamouring of support. It's reasonable to assume then that, as he has said, he only wants to take money out of Arsenal, not put it in.
