Perhaps you were getting confused with the word 'petty', which does mean small-minded.

yes my parents used to use the word Petite bourgeoisie,lower middle class , proletariat, nouveau riche and many many other type phrases when I was a child growing up in our rich neighborhood learning about the struggles of the working class, our petite bourgeoisie , lower middle class , nouveau riche neighbors who hated the new money themselves self made welsh working class left wing hairy old hippy feckers, LSE, Lecturers turned into software creating and selling capitalists making money from the The Saudi Arabian military hospital patient system :-) ..where did this debate / accusation spring from ? what post did i miss ?
